A Real Patient Review-Microneedling for Stretch Marks
” I was treated with Microneedling and PRP for stretch marks on the back of my legs and my arms. I have a boost of confidence in wearing tank tops where I did not before. I even show off my legs.” KR
SKIN PEN MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling in the past was performed with dermal rollers and/or skin stamps. The technology has evolved and very effective micro needling treatments are performed with electronic pens. These pens have multiple needles that move very quickly. The depth of penetration can be adjusted according to the facial concern. The results can be quite amazing. Fine lines and wrinkles improve. Tone and texture of the skin improves. Microneedling can be used on the face and body. It can help improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks. It is thought that the needling procedure result in a controlled injury to the skin that stimulates collagen. Also with the channels created with the pen, active ingredients can be delivered to the dermis.
Some of the ingredients that can be applied to the skin with Microneedling include:
- Hyaluronic acid-This natural skin hydrator helps to plump and moisturize the skin.
- Vitamin C-An antioxidant that improves pigmentation, wrinkles and can tighten the skin.
- Growth Factors- proteins that help rejuvenate the skin
- PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)- Growth factors derived from your own bloom are applied to the skin using the Microneedling pen.
- Amnion- A rich source of Growth factors.
Microneedling is usually administered over multiple sessions. The number of sessions required depend on the problem area and concern. We have been performing Microneedling for a number of years and have had multiple pens. Currently we use the Skin Pen which has many advantages and Vivace RF Microneedling. The Skin Pen can help with wrinkles, fine lines, crepey skin, stretch marks and acne scars.
VIVACE RF MICRONEEDLING SKIN REJUVENATION
Vivace RF Microneedling is a device that combines radiofrequency with Microneedling delivering energy deep into the skin’s layers stimulating collagen and elastin production giving it a rejuvenated, youthful glow.
The procedure consists of placing a handpiece made of either insulated or non-insulated microneedles on the skin which then release the radiofrequency energy into the skin’s many layers. Combining Radiofrequency with Microneedling helps to deliver the energy deeper in the skin.
This procedure does not injure the outer layers of the skin making the procedure safe for all skin types and skin tones.
This device also utilizes LED light. A red LED laser is used to trigger skin cells to increase collagen production, improving the skin’s tone and texture. A blue LED laser then acts on any existing acne-causing bacteria, successfully improving the appearance of any preexisting acne.
When applied to the skin, under topical anesthesia, sterile microneedles are used to create many microscopic channels deep into the dermis of the skin that can stay open up to four to six hours. This stimulates the body to produce new collagen. The precise delivery of RF energy to 31 varying depths of penetration gives The Vivace exceptional outcomes.
Vivace microneedles come non-insulated or insulated. This provides the physician with different options to treat different skin types. The non-insulated needles deliver bi-polar energy from the epidermis down through the dermis. Vivace microneedles are insulated except the end point (0.4mm). Microneedle electrodes deliver bi-polar energy deep into dermis without damaging the epidermis. Minimally invasive RF thermal energy creates fractional electrocoagulation in the dermis which facilitates a natural wound healing process. WHM promotes the remodeling of collagen, elastin and wound contraction, which enhances skin laxity.
